Restaurant Review: LaSpada's Original Hoagies

2240 NW 19th St. Boca Raton, FL 33431 | Boca Raton | 561-393-1434
Map | http://laspadashoagies.com

If you are wondering where the young hipsters of Boca Raton are hanging out, look no further than LaSpada’s. Hidden amongst the pink plazas of The Commons, this is a sandwich shop worth searching for. While hot subs are not their forte or available for that matter, their meats are freshly sliced when you order by tattooed and pierced twenty-somethings. Arrive during peak hours for a show when the slicer launches your meat to a bread mitt down the line. Then top it off with veggies and another layer of more meat. Definitely go for the special spices and you’ll find yourself munching on the ‘best damn hoagies in town.’

Restaurant Review: Tijuana Flats

6970 State Road 7 Coconut Creek, FL 33073 | Coconut Creek | 954-481-9371
Map | http://www.tijuanaflats.com

Smack My Ass and Call Me Sally, or at least top your burrito with it. Tijuana Flats is a Mexican fueled assault on the eyes and stomach lining. Aim for the most brightly painted bay in the plaza and place your order at the counter with the perky cashier. Then the fun starts at the sauce bar where the toppers are rated by emoticons from smiley to death. Experiment with the levels because the wall art looks super trippy when your tongue is burning out of your skull. Ask a wandering server for a free refill whenever necessary. Find a sauce you love? Take it home, bottled all for your own.
